UNACADEMY STARS PROGRAM - TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SELECTIONS

SORTING HAT TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED (hereinafter referred to as "Unacademy”) has developed a program called the Unacademy Stars (hereinafter referred to as (“Program”) to identify and select budding educators, provide training on various areas including but not limited to preparing content and provide them an opportunity to take classes on Unacademy through its platform which comprises, inter alia of the Unacademy website www.unacademy.com and the Unacademy mobile application as well as YouTube channels owned by Unacademy (hereinafter referred to as (“Platform”) for learners in the various categories such as JEE, NEET UG, UPSC CSE, GATE, CAT, NET, CA, Class 6-8, Foundation (Class 9-12), CLAT, Judiciary or any other categories as may be communicated by Unacademy (“Categories”).

This Program is made available to all individuals, subject to the eligibility criteria, who wish to apply to the Program. In order to submit their application for the Program, the individual shall be required to provide the requested details on the sign-up page of the Program during the time the registration for the Program is ongoing as may be communicated by Unacademy on the Platform (“Participant”).

The Participants are governed by the terms and conditions hereof (“Program Terms”) which determine the selection process of the Participants to the Program and the Privacy Policy. The Program Terms along with the Privacy Policy collectively form a legally binding agreement between any Participant and Unacademy of the Program. By clicking on the ‘I agree’ icon or by submitting an application to the Program, you hereby unconditionally consent, agree, and undertake to be bound by and adhere to these Program Terms and Privacy Policy. The Program Terms are subject to modification by Unacademy and shall continue to subsist as determined by Unacademy at its sole discretion.

Eligibility Criteria:

In order to participate in the Program, a Participant shall be; (i) an Individual (ii) an Indian citizen (iii) in India (iv) legally eligible to enter into a contract (v) has completed at least a Bachelor’s degree in a subject as may be relevant for the Categories.

Selection Process:

The selection process shall consist of three (03) rounds of Participant evaluation by Unacademy. For Round 1, the Company shall shortlist candidates based on the information, videos and details submitted by the Participant through their application. Unacademy shall contact the shortlisted Participants over email, phone and any other mode and may also ask them to submit any further documents for verification, as per the timelines provided by Unacademy. Pursuant to verification, the Participants who are selected for Round 2 shall be required to undergo a virtual assessment round over video call (Zoom) in order to showcase their knowledge and teaching skills, in such manner as may be determined by Unacademy. Candidates who successfully clear Round 2 shall be invited for an online interview for the final Round 3. Unacademy does not accept any responsibility for any incorrect and/or incomplete communication details provided and/or delay in receipt of communication and/or non-receipt of communication.

Pursuant to the selection process, Unacademy shall intimate the shortlisted participants, post Round 3, of their selection into the Program (“Shortlisted Participant”) pursuant to which the selected individual shall be required to enter into a separate contract with Unacademy, detailing the specific terms and conditions of the Program including reimbursement, pursuant to which they will be onboarded onto the Program (“Selected Participant”).

The Selected Participant shall have to relocate to Bengaluru for a period of atleast one (01) year for the Program, which may be extended at the sole discretion of Unacademy.

Selected Participant:

The selection of a Participant to the Program shall be subject to the discretion of Unacademy and Unacademy reserves the right to modify the terms for onboarding a Selected Participant to the Program.

The Selected Participants shall also have to successfully complete a 12 (twelve) week training program (“Training”). The detailed terms and conditions for the Program, including but not limited to the terms pertaining to the compensation and other benefits (if any), shall be communicated by the Company to the Selected Participants through a separate legally binding agreement, post the selection process.

Unacademy shall be well within its rights to reject the Selected/Shortlisted Participant or choose another Participant in place of the originally Selected/Shortlisted Participant at any time if: (a) the documents or details provided by such Participant are invalid/incorrect/incomplete/ misleading /untrue or not acceptable in the opinion of Unacademy; (b) the Participant has not conformed to any of the terms and conditions contained herein; (c) the Participant does not sign the consent form or any other documents/contract required, if any, by Unacademy concerning the Program; or (e) any other reason as may be deemed appropriate by Unacademy.

Personal Information:

A Participant’s Personal Information, that may be collected to enable such Participant to apply for the Program shall be collected, processed, and stored in accordance with the Unacademy’s Privacy Policy. Participants shall have all the rights available to them under the applicable Data Protection Laws in accordance with the Unacademy Privacy Policy.

Unacademy shall use a Participant’s Personal Information to communicate with the Participant in relation to the Program. The said communication can either be by calls, text, or emails and for the purposes of facilitating the Program itself, transactional, service, advertising or promotional calls or messages about the Program and/or Platform, other offers, new products or services made available by Unacademy and its Group Companies, and the Participant hereby consents to the same.

Any deletion request received from a Participant in respect of their Personal Information shall be processed in accordance with Unacademy Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers:

  • Unacademy and/or its subsidiaries/affiliates shall not be under any obligation to the Participant/Learner in relation to the Program and the Participant shall have no claims whatsoever against Unacademy and/or its subsidiaries/affiliates relating to the selection process or the running of the Program.
  • Unacademy shall not be responsible for any errors or omissions in the terms and conditions contained herein. All information provided is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Unacademy disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement in respect of the Program.
  • Unacademy shall have the sole discretion to discontinue/cancel the Program or any part thereof at any point in time and the Participant shall not raise any claim due to such discontinuation or cancellation at any time whatsoever.  
  • Unacademy shall not be held responsible in case of a server shutdown or loss of Participant’s registration and/or other data. Unacademy shall not be responsible for any delay in receipt or non-receipt or incomplete or corrupt receipt of the registration or, other details of the Participant. Unacademy shall not be responsible for any technical difficulties or data corruption that may arise during the registration process. Further, Unacademy shall not be responsible and/or liable in any manner whatsoever in case the Participant is unable to register for participation in the Program due to failure on part of the internet service provider, facility provider, etc.
  • Unacademy shall not be liable for any loss suffered by any Participant due to not being selected for the Program and shall not entertain any communication, clarification, query, or dispute in this regard. The decision regarding selection of Participants shall be final on the part of Unacademy.
